Upgrading my pc for bf3

Hello, My name is Jonathan , my brother have PC with a Asus M5A97 MOB, AMD ATHLON 2 X4 630, 8 GB RAM , ATI RADEON 5770 1GB, 320GB OF HARD DRIVE, A CORSAIR 750WATTS POWERSUPPLY, HE BUY BF3 BUT IT GETTING LAG , I NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOU RECOMEND ME TO UPDATE THE PC to play the game in high

just to play devils advocate how long has it been since the computer was defragmented,

not sure that will fix all the lag but if no one can remember when it was defragged... it probably needs it

my brother is playing in High settings the game but it gets the lags , the players stop or start walking backwards

we run the http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/Requirements/battlefield-3/11211?p=a and http://www.geforce.com/games-applications/pc-games/battlefield-3/gpu-analyzer

so both page say my brother PC are Ok Except for the Video card but before to buy a new one i want to be sure of that

It actually sounds more like internet lag. The 5770 should be able to pull medium, but high is pushing it depending on the resolution.

You could run at moderate settings. You would need a faster video card to run the game on high at decent resolutions. A 7870 maybe?

Depending on the price where you are, the HD 7850 is a large leap up in terms of gaming performance from the HD 7770.

That's actually a larger resolution than yours, but the HD 7850 performs ~20 FPS better than the HD 7770. The great overclocking ability of these cards also gives it a boost.

I currently have an HD 7850 2 GB myself that I picked up for $150 on Black Friday. 😛

Thanks. Alredy i buy both card for me a Asus hd 7770 2gb 128bits ... and for my brother a MSI 7850 2gb 256bits i hope this card help him to play his game and eliminate the strange lag he is getting

Wrong decition. reason the lag problem is not fully cure by gpu.athalon 2 x4 not utilise full gpu .so old card and new card same problem raise.Solution: change mobo and processor.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's the CPU that's too old. The mobo is a good one, it's AM3+. He could install any Phenom II or a FX and it would be a mayor improvement.

The FX-6300 is a better buy than the 6200, and the price is just a little higher. Probably around 5 dollars.

But. I saw that the 6200 is 125watts and the 6300 is 95 watts there a reason for that ??
