Ive gone a fairly ok time without upgrading now, but currently playing AC: Oddyssey and the game wont run smoothly past low-medium setting. I'm still enjoying it, but want to be ready for the future. Given my dxdiag, what should I upgrade and with what (budget €500-600)?

I have been going for a while now without upgrading my pc, but now im playing AC: Oddyssey, and I feel it, as the game wont go past low/medium settings. Given my dxdiag, what upgrade(s) should I do to be ready for a few more years? Alternatively, which upgrade would see me gain the most performance? (ideally both). My budget is €500-600. Thanks for all your replies and input

If you want to do as you say and be ready for the future, you will need a better CPU and GPU. AC Odyssey is considerably un-optimized compared to other games. It's uses the CPU a LOT. It also requires a beefy GPU. I have to lower settings to high and very high to maintain 60fps with my GTX 1080 Ti at 1440p. You actually have an ultrawide 1440p.

What PSU do you have?

If You have to choose one for now, and your 1070 is still a good GPU, I would get a CPU, mobo, RAM upgrade. AC is a CPU heavy game and your I5 is holding you back and,I'm sure you are at 100% GPU usage all the time.

Thank you for the very detailed answer. I am indeed inclined to keep my GPU, as it is the part that I purchased most recently (and my cpu is indeed the oldest part). Which of the two proposals would you pick, not looking at the €50 difference? And is there anything else I should consider?
