I have a ELEMENT003i Intel i7-8700K 3.7 GHz, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080 8GB, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 2TB HDD, 480GB SSD, Liquid Cooled, 802.11AC WiFi, Win 10 Home, VR Ready

Im getting a different case wondering if i should upgrade anything else ?

any recommendations on what to keep and what to update?

Your build looks pretty well balanced in terms of hardware. I wont change anything there unless I am facing some serious issues with current parts. That build should give you a couple of more years easily, before you should comprehend an upgrade.
