Upgrading my router

Hello i wanted to know if i upgrade my 6 year old router well i see gains in internet speeds and reduced lag spikes now i get 20 down and 10up and i pay for 200down and 50up and any suggestions for routers

My guess is you are using WIFI. An "AC" router could provide better WIFI. It may not be perfect. For gaming, powerline network adapters may provide a more consistent network than WIFI. The newest standard for powerline networking is the "AV2" devices.
