Good evening, everyone.
While playing Cyberpunk 2077 and Starfield, I have the feeling it's time to upgrade my setup, specially the GPU.
I'm on a 55" TV that supports 120hz and I play every game on 4k. My FPS on Cyberpunk has been averaging 75 using the preset Medium and having every new technology, such as Ray Tracing, disabled.
That's not an awful performance by any means, specially considering I insist on having everything run at 4k. However, as every gamer, I keep scratching my head thinking it's time to upgrade something. My RTX 3070 isn't getting any newer.
After spending a few hours researching about the newer GPUs and AMD vs. Nvidia, I'm left with more questions than answers. AMD's much cheaper prices are very temping, but I've been hearing a lot about stutters and crashes. Getting a RTX 4070, meanwhile, seems like a big investment for a relatively small performance boost.
I also wonder if getting a newer GPU, such as an RTX 4070, would cause a bottleneck and force me to upgrade my CPU.
What are you guys opinions? Is it worth it getting a new GPU at this moment? Which model has a best cost-benefit, considering I'm using an RTX 3070? Are AMDs cheaper prices worth the trouble they could cause?
Consider I could get some money back by selling my RTX 3070, just like I did with my RTX 2070 last year.
I've also thought about upgrading to DDR5, but that indeed sounds like a whole lot of money for a small boost.
Thanks to everyone in advance.
My setup is the following:
Motherboard: Gigabyte B660M DS3H AX DDR4
Graphics card: RTX 3070 Msi Ventus 3x
CPU: Intel i5-12400F
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Rgb Pro 32gb(2x16gb) 3600mhz
SSD: FANXIANG 2TB 7400 Mbps
