I'm upgrading my old system from 2014, it was even budget for its time. This is what I'm using now:

I'm trying to get a all purpose, light gaming build on the cheap. I'll be using it mainly for browsing, using documents, programming, and some light gaming but I don't play often. (And if I do its generally csgo, legue, etc.)

Here is my current plan, I'd really liketo not spend any more than this, ideally even cheaper alternatives if better value:

If you could stretch your budget to this it would be miles better for gaming and much more reliable than re-using a 6 year old budget PSU:

I do intend to get a new GPU in the future, but right now I cant stretch that far, maybe £400 maximum. Do you think a new PSU is vital if I'm not yet to upgrade my GPU?

No you should be ok with it maybe although hard to say as these thing don't last forever the warranty period was for 3 years so it has done pretty well so far
