[SOLVED] Upgrading my system

Hi,

I want to upgarde my system to Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Elite Motherboard with Core i5 9600 k Processor and Zotac RTX 2060 Amp Card,so i am previosuly using Cooler master thunder 600W SMPS so it my Power Supply is enough for this Specs,Please suggest moreover i dont want to spend another bucks in buying smps.

It’s a poor quality psu, I wouldn’t risk new parts on it. Also I see no scenario where a 9600k is the best choice.

Then kindly suggest a good PSU and is it fine to buy a i5 9600k.

Another low end PSU. I’d suggest a Corsair CX550 or CX650 as a minimum but a higher quality choice would be a Seasonic Focus GX550 or 650. A high quality 550w is plenty and better than a low quality higher wattage.

The 9600k only has 6 threads and it’s being pushed very hard in the latest games. As a result even though it can achieve higher averages it can suffer worse lows. Intel know 6 threads is no longer enough for a mid range cpu and the 10th gen 10600k is 6 core 12 thread. My expectation is the 9600k will age badly like the 6600/7600k have. If my money I’d go Ryzen 3600 or i5 10600 and completely ignore 9th gen i5’s.

You are from India, right? Most people there call PSUs very specifically as "SMPS". Do you have any favourite online store so I can recommend you the best one there?

I'm not sure why it shows a CV 450 on the picture. I wouldn't use it to run a 2060 with a 9600K, but if it's REALLY a CX, then this is the lowest I would go.

If it isn't a CX, this one might do it. It's sadly still Double Forward, though, so the CX is technically better. If you can't afford any of these, don't go for a 2060. Go for a 1660 Super and allocate the budget into a better PSU.
