UPGRADING (Need Help Please!)

I want to be able to play new games, pubg, cod wwII ect. on high settings.

Current setup:
AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5 GHz
SAPPHIRE DUAL-X Radeon R9 280
Gigabyte 78-LMT rev 5.0
CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W
Ballistix Sport XT 8GG RAM
100gb SSD and 500 GB HDD

Also keep in mind, I have a liquid cooling component, and it will utilize Intel, 1150,1155,1156,1366,2011 AMD: AMD,AMD2,AMD3, FM1,FM2. (if it is too outdated, I will consider using stock cooling or another cooler)

My case is RAIDMAX Super Hurricane ATX-248NWB Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case. Id also prefer to keep the case so Id need a MB to fit as well.

Right now, I am looking into a GPU, I think i will also need a Cpu and MB. Which might also force me to buy a new psu..... any recommendations are helpful! Thanks you!
As for budget, My girlfiend will spend 2-300 and I will purchase the remaining parts.

If I could stay with my current CPU and upgrade the mb and gpu. Why not.

If I go intel, Id have to buy more parts. I Heard amd is cheaper and can have the same performance output as intel. Therefore, I dont have a preference, unless you can convince me otherwise.

Is that CPU worth buying? From looking at the specs (assuming I looked at the correct thing) they look identical. And my current AMD has more cores and higher operating frequency. (just trying to understand this more, I dont want to make it seem like I am throwing your idea down)

then maybe you should buy a new graphic card like a gtx 1060 6gb
