Hello there! So basically I've decided to upgrade my pc . I'm gonna use the pc mostly for "gaming" (hate that word) .At the moment I want to set the cpu's clock rate to 4.5 GHz hoping that my cpu cooler can handle it and for the future I would maybe like to add a 2nd 1070 and an SSD (M.2) for the games.
This is what I've come up with so far https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Felyth/saved/mrnVnQ
Would really appreciate some insight.
I have marked the components that I am planning to keep with *
My current build is :
- CPU - i5-2500k (Sandy Bridge)

- CPU cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 412S*

- Motherboard : asus p8p67-M

- RAM : 4x 4GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance

- HDD: WD-Blue 3TB 5400RPM*

- SSD: Intel - 535 Series 120gb * (using it for my OS and other programs - no games)*

- GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB

- PSU: a 5-6 year old Corsair GS700

- Case: Corsair 780T ATX Full Tower Case *

Hi,

Everything looks fine from a compatibility standpoint. Not sure which games you are playing and at what resolution but you might want to downgrade your CPU and upgrade your GPU. The big issue is what resolution.

Also, your PSU was not correct in the build, you had the RM750i while you state that you have the GS700. Here is the i5-7600K/GTX 1080 build.
