I am trying to see if it is worth an upgrade, I know SSD can go a long way with any PC but the CPU is weak (I guess) and not sure if the RAM can go to 8GB or not, does CPU-Z mean 4GB limit per slot or whole PC?

Are these the supported CPU?
https://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_(chipsets)/G45_Express.html

Can it or the bios support 4 core CPU like Q9650 and is it that much better than T6570?

This is the service manual I think but only has low spec compatibility parts but also not sure if it matches my laptop 100%

Thanks!

For that old of a system you can buy a used one for the cost of the upgrades you would need to do. An early i3 or i5 CPU based laptop can be found for about $1-150.

Your system would need 4-8 GB of RAM in it and a solid state drive to speed things up. Just a CPU swap won't do that much and support for it would be a guess unless you find a system online that someone upgraded and verified it worked.

If you'd rather spend money on the old system, you can double the RAM with another 2 GB stick and replace the drive with a 120 or 240 gb SSD along with a clean Windows setup, that will speed up the system a lot.

Thomson laptop 13 inch screen intel celeron 2GB RAM, 32GB is sold here for 211 USD 😕

This is the cheapest I can find on a site equivalent to ebay in USA

But if this laptop is just 4GB max then it is useless... I don't know I will think about it...

Thanks for the help hang-the-9
