Hello everyone. I was wondering if I could get some help with upgrading my old pc, anything could really work at this point but I just wanted to get some helpful options.

My specs:

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-970A -D3
CPU - Athlon II X4 640 3.0ghz
GPU - GTX 650Ti 1gb
RAM - 4gb
1366 x 768
1TB (pretty much full lol)

I'd say my budget would be about £800-£1000 for a pc that could run things like the new Mass Effect: Andromeda, Doom, Witcher 3. Finally the steps are being made.

Yeah I think I might just build a fresh one keep this one and upgrade it at some point in the future, and indeed I thought I'd have some left over money gonna start thinking about some parts. thanks very much.

Do you intend to keep the current display? If so you'll save a lot of cash.
In the meantime this'll give good 1080 performance: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/coozie7/saved/
Or for far more clout: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/coozie7/saved/#view=6QzCJx

The above are decent but both will really need at least a 1080 display to really strut their stuff, (the big one would be better with a 27" WQHD display) but that will push the big one at least well over your max budget.

Right now, though I'll advise you to hold off, AMD is due to release its own new Ryzen CPU's in the fairly near future, and the general hype is they're going to be very, very good.

Another build,

not a cpu that can be overclocked, but with the "Z" board can all cores run max turbo, which is 4.1,good for years to come. For just ten pound more can you add the 7600K which makes this over budget, why i didn't include it.Also don't know if you're up for overclocking.

If you want to stay closer to the 800 budget can you get the i5 7500 + some alot cheaper 2400mhz ram like,
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/dhM323/corsair-memory-cmk16gx4m2a2400c14
I would stick with the "Z"board because of that turbo thingy.Could well be that an Asrock B250 board with first biosses have an overclock section it it,saw that earlier on a different board of them.Maybe that the max turbo on all cores is still workable with that.
A cheaper psu is also possible.Like the next for instance,

get's you closer to that 800 budget as well.

Maybe you want to add an extra fan at the back, this case comes with two 120mm blue led fans at the front. These are 120mm led fans in the next link,
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/products/case-fan/#sort=a9&s=120&l=23,46,93,77,82
Choose a nice one yourself. You could also use one of the front fans at the back, that is your choice.
Look for a nice case yourself as well.

If getting those lesser priced parts and a gtx 1060 could you buy a nice monitor as well,

The blue led fan chosen here is just one of the choices.

I was indeed thinking in getting a better monitor, and I really like the big build wouldn't mind going a bit over the budget, this is actually quite similar to what I was originally planning to get, and i'll look into the CPU a bit. Thanks! :)

If you are just playing at 1366x768 and not upgrading to 1080p in the future, i could recommend you a pretty killer rig in just under 600 euros and you could spend the extra on peripherals.

PC Specs:
Motherboard - Gigabyte B250m DS3H

CPU - i5 7400

GPU - GTX 1060 3gb ( should serve you well years to come)

RAM - 8 gb DDR4 2133 or 2400 mhz

CASE - Corsair 100r

PSU - EVGA 500w

This rig should serve you well years to come and i would suggest upgrading to a 1080p monitor to get a better experience!

The first build is very nice, I'm not really into overclocking so this one would work very nice with the turbo gonna look into some other parts thank you for all of this info! :)

Does look very good and I've been wanting to upgrade to 1080p for a while so, thanks!

He already has a hdd,why add a second one? The ssd is imo more usefull.

If you look at that second build i chose does it have the same or somewhat better specs,it also gives options for a monitor.
