I currently have an old PC that I built in 8th grade (I'm a senior in hs now) and it is pretty trash. I have an Intel i3 7100 and an MSI 1050 ti, with 16 GB of ddr4 ram. If I have task manager up in the background and play a simple game like Valorant, the CPU will be at 100% usage. Fortnite also runs very poorly at all low settings. Both games crash randomly. Which part should I upgrade (both if needed) and to what? I'd rather not spend more than 500 for upgrades but I can splurge if need be. I am open to switching to an AMD system depending on the price of the motherboard change.

Please follow the stylizing of this thread with the necessary information and we can move forward from there. Currency, location and preferred site for purchase will all help us two fold.

Please include/list your current specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
OS:

and state what you intend to recycle.

Personally I think you could do with some troubleshooting to rule out what's causing a bad experience on your current platform. Remember, just because you can throw money at a problem doesn't essentially mean it'll solve it.
