I'm want to upgrade my 2011 rig with something that would run new games with medium quality I'm on a budget of about 270€
currently I have
CPU: Intel I3 2100 3.1GHz (Motherboard socket: 1155)
GPU: AMD radeon HD 6770 MSI MD 1Gb

So far I have came up with
CPU: Intel i5-3340 3.1GHz
GPU: AMD R7 260X

will these new parts work together?

That is correct. The 4150 is an 1150 socket and the 2100 is an 1155 socket.

Upgrade the GPU first and then the CPU. The CPU can support pretty much an GPU on the market. It will be the short coming in games that require a quad core (BF4 Multiplayer). But your budget needs to be a little bigger to truly have a benefit. What power supply do you have?

Sorry, I didnt see that, but id actually recommend not changin the processor, sincce ur using lga1155, lga1155 is for 2nd and 3rd gen processors like i3 2100 or i5 3770k, If u really want the full pot3netial u could go with i7 3770k with/without gtx 960/970, but its pricy, around 350 , but if still on budget gtx 970 without changin the proceessor is my reccomendation, also wat power supply do u hav, if its below 500w, u would want 2 get a 500w psu, or higher
