Hi guys, I have recently purchased an Optiplex 740 and now know that it really isn't that great for newer PC games and due to it being an SFF I'm limited with upgrading parts within the case.
I have tried to find the size of my motherboard so I can buy a new case, but being the newb that I am I really don't know how to find it. My specs are:
AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 5200+
2.70 GHz
4GB RAm
Windows 7
My current graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce 8400GS 256MB
So, I need to purchase a gaming case, then a new PSU - would you recommend going for something quite large so it will be capable to run any upgrades in future? I've seen a few PSU's around 600 - 700w for £67? Or are they cheap versions?
After a PSU change I'd like a new graphics card too, and then hopefully move on from there.
So my biggest query is what size is my motherboard and what size PSU would you recommend me to get to be able to gradually build up my system?
