Question Upgrading PC parts, but don't know if they will suit my current PC

Seeing as Black Friday is approaching, I have considered (once again) to upgrade my PC. Now, I haven't done this in 2 years since I last bought my current GTX 1070. It still works fine, but now I am looking into 4k + 1440p for the foreseeable future

My problem is this; I'm not sure that the new parts I want will be best suited for my current PC.

I have been looking around and have seen the RTX 2070 Super, RTX 3070 & RTX 3080 which are all a massive upgrade over my current 1070.

I have a pretty old motherboard, MSI H370 GAMING PLUS - ATX Motherboard
pretty old PSU that I have had since day one (about 4 years) which I don't know the name of it but it is a 650W Bronze
And my CPU is the i7-8700
My current case is a NZXT s340

Now, here is my issue. I'm not sure if my current kit is good enough for an upgraded GFX that supports 4K or 1440p, and if it would fit into my case? Would I have to build a new PC from scratch, or am I overthinking this?

Thank you in advance!

First - find out, what specific PSU model it it.
It should be fine for RTX 3070.
RTX 3080 might require PSU upgrade though.

Your case supports graphics cards up to 364mm in length (334mm, if you have front mounted aio radiator).
Your current system is perfectly fine to support these cards. Founders edition cards will fit for sure (RTX 3070 is 242mm, RTX 3080 is 285mm). For custom design cards - you have to check their size parameters.

The PSU is a Corsair TX650M
