Okay I am looking to upgrade My PC, I got it almost 3 years ago and it is a basic prebuilt one but I'm looking to add some nice parts into it to make a solid gaming PC because right now it sucks .
The current specs are:
i7 3770 3.40GHz
GTX 520 (yes I know)
350 PSU
8 GB RAM (4 GB x2)
ASUS N13219 Motherboard
ASUS Essentio CM 6830-06 Case

I'm looking to replace the 520 with a GTX 970 and replace the 350 PSU with a 650 PSU (or should it be higher?) and I'm also thinking of upgrading to 16 GB RAM (8 GB x2)

Will this work as a good PC for another few years? Is the CPU good enough for another few years? And I know it's a boring stock kind of motherboard but I don't really see any need to buy an expensive one.

I'm also looking to play games in 1080p Ultra or high with around 60 fps or higher. Not looking for anything insane but something that will last through college, or at least most of it. (I'm a senior in HS now) Will this work?

You have a good plan. The 3770 is still respectable and won't bottleneck the GTX 970. Get a good PSU, 500 to 600 watt range. I recommend buying a kit of 16 GB RAM rather than just adding two sticks. They may not play nice together. Are you running out of RAM?
