Hello all. I have some money, give or take about $1,400, I need to get a new cpu (i7 of course), a new power supply (650w+), a new motherboard (as I have an asus m5a99fx PRO r2.0 which is obviously only for AMD), and a new graphics card (I'm already leaning towards a gtx 980ti due to the fact that I have three 1440p monitors). And with direct X12, I also want to use my r9 380 together with the 980ti to get 12gb of vram. So I, of course, need a motherboard with 2 pci express ports. It also needs to be DDR3 because I have 8gb ddr3, im not editing or rendering anything, so I feel no need to upgrade to 16+ gigs. Please be as descriptive as you possibly can, I'm willing to read a multi-page essay if you guys throw me one. Thank You!

If you aren't going to be editing or rendering, the i7 is useless. i5 will perform basically the same in game. Ditch the DDR3 and grab the new skylake platform with faster ram, and overclockable i5 6600k. Stuck a liquid cooler in their even though I prefer to recommend air coolers, like the Cryorig R1. A nice EVGA graphics card and Platinum 650W with 10 year warranty and some extra cash.

That's great, but I have no interest in water cooling and I would prefer to get an i7 even if it is "useless". And why would I need ddr4, comparing ddr3 to ddr4 is like comparing apples to apples, and 8gb of ram will perform the exact same as 16gb in games, which is what I'll be doing primarily.

This is exactly what I was looking for, Thank You!
