upgrading pc to run VR

i got a i5-3570 without the K im upgrading my ram to this

just can't decide whether to go for a gtx 1060 6gb or an Rx480 8gb
i know most people would prop say go with the gtx 1060 6gb
but ive heard other's say that the rx480 8gb will be better at playing games with direct x 12
so im not sure
