[SOLVED] Upgrading PC, what parts?

Hi,

I am looking to upgrade my pc. I can salvage a few parts and am looking for what is reccomended in 2022.

I currently have the following system:

Z87 with a 4790k and 16GB DDR 3 ram at 1600MHz.

Since changing my 4670k for a 4790k I have been having nothing but issues, even tried using a custom bios and am giving up and just upgrading.

I need a new case, motherboard, cpu and ddr4 ram. I will also need a new cpu fan or water cooling solution.

I only game etc and have an 11gb 1080ti gpu and 1000w psu I can use. I am happy at 144fps @ 1080p.

Not really got a budget but I won't spend stupid money on parts when it's is not needed.

I have found a 12400F and 2 x 8gb Corsair low profile 3600 RAM for a fair price as I'm in UK stuffs a bit more expensive.

The motherboard you picked the 660m Bazooka I have found for 160 pound or the mortar version for 180? Is it worth getting this board for more than the cpu is worth? Never paid more for a board than a cpu before.

Edit: There is an offer on for the Mortar + cpu that makes the mortar the same price as the bazooka. No brainer to go for the mortar?

The Mortar has a newer audio codec (Realtek 1200) which is nice if you play first person shooter games as in hearing footsteps, etc ...

Personally would wait for the AM5 launch and upgrade to that. Wouldn’t bother wide DDR4 with 5 gaining popularity
