Hi all,
I just got a refurbished laptop. Since I knew in advance that the laptop would have a pentium p6100 CPU, I got an i5 CPU that fit the same socket (socket G1). Upon switching the processors and trying to turn the computer on, the failsafe activated. Is this because the i5 takes more power, or is it more likely because I did not put enough thermal paste in the new processor? If it is because the i5 takes more power, how can I fix this? is it possible to upgrade a laptop's PSU?
