Question Upgrading Processor Advice (130$) Budget

Which intel processor should I buy with ddr3 ram support and below 130$ budget? Preferably 2nd or 3rd gen.
I am upgrading my CPU from i3 530 (2.93) and a GT 1030. Please advice?

A person that have knowledge of the India market prices it will be more likely to answer more appropriately your question.

I can only give you some indicating directions.

First your current CPU indicates that your motherboard has a LGA 1156 socket and thus it can't support 2nd or 3rd gen. CPUs.

The other thing is that I can't understand if the 130$ budget includes the buy of GT 1030 or it is only for the CPU.

With 130$ you can find a LGA 1155 M/B + an Intel i7 2600K or a 3770K CPU as used parts but in the country I live (not India), so I don't know if these prices apply also to your country.

Or you could go with the same budget for a used AM4 mobo + AMD CPU like a Ryzen 3 1200 + 8 GB 2666GHz RAM.

What exact motherboard do you have?

You probably can chuck in an I7 920 or simmilar for a tiny cost that will deliver pretty alright performance.

Don't bother. You're still talking about 8 year old CPUs (Ivy Bridge). That's a waste of your money.

If you can find an i7-860 (or similar Compatible CPUs for your existing mobo ) for CHEAP, go that route. Otherwise save up for a proper upgrade using current gen hardware.
