Question Upgrading PSU on Lenovo Desktop

Hi all,
I want to swap the power supply on my V55t-15API lenovo desktop (with a lenovo 3706 10 pin slot motherboard) to a silverstone TX500 Gold psu which comes with a 24/20 pci connector. Is this possible using an 24 to 10 pin adaptor? some reviews of these adaptors on amazon say that it fried their motherboard and I would like to avoid that at all costs. I'm really just looking for some advice since I am new to PC building and don't want to damage anything expensive! Any help would be greatly appreciated

If this adaptor is specific for this motherboard and it has a 5vSB to 12vSB conversion and the case can fit a 30mm longer PSU: yes.

I believe it is suitable as it states it's for Lenovo PCs, but not too sure if it will work with my motherboard specifically. I have measured my case and it will be able to hold the power supply.
