Hi all,
I am upgrading my old r3 1200, I have a B450 Mobo from gigabyte, 16 GB (2*8gb) ram 3k mhz and a GTX 1660.
All on 550 watt corsair power supply.

PC is used for 2 major things, Photoshop and Playing Games(All sorts from AAA like RDR to esports like cs/valorant).

I am buying from amazon.in
I have 3 options but I am confused.

R5 2600 going for 11.5k INR
R5 3600 going for 18.2k INR
Or should I got middle path and buy
R5 3500x for 15k INR

Please advise.

Delivery from Chinese e commerce sites are being delayed near NCR.

I am not buying second hand products, because I don't have time to negotiate, call, catch up with sellers.....

If the 3600 does not offer any generational features which I could benefit from, only the performance improvement, then I suppose 2600 should serve me fine for next 3 years, then ofcourse I will be upgrading both CPU/GPU.

Its late to be buying a 3600 also if you're bothered about generations of cpu's.

The 2600 has 2 extra cores, 8 extra threads and 20% better ipc than your ryzen 1200 - that is a fairly hefty upgrade, it's virtually twice as powerful overall.

The 3600 is about 12% better than a 2600 - that's NOT a huge difference considering it...
Really it's entirely budget dependant.

The prices are directly related in order of performance.

That said I'm not convinced the 3500x is a better 'overall' cpu than the 2600.

The hyperthreading on the 2600 'may' pay dividends in some cases.

Generally the 3500x and the 3600 are going to perform 10-20% better in gaming than the 2600, which is relevant only if you're running a 100htz+ monitor, they're all capable of more than 60fps in any title, all capable of powering a 1660 with no issues and regarding photsoshop and general work/windows use you're not really going to see a difference imo.

The 2600 is absolutely the best price to performance option out of those, just depends what you want to spend.

I know of the performance gains of 3600 over previous generations, whether its worth the extra premium over 2600 is what I need advise on.
I don't want to spend more money on CPU/GPU in next 2-3 years atleast and considering even 5000 series Ryzen is also out for some time now, is 2600 at 11.5k considering its Age a good buy over a 3600 for 18.2k.

Currently my R3 1200 Bottlenecks in a lot of games, a good example is Apex Legends, CPU Usage : 90-99%, GPU Usage: 40-80%, frames drop below 60 while Avg. FPS is only 80.
Even photoshop freezes if say I run a Long Action, or if the project accumulates lot of layers.
