Upgrading radeon HD 4850

I currently have 2 radeon HD 4850 1GB graphic cards in Crossfire, but i just got a new 3d tv that i'm using as the monitor so i want to upgrade to something that is 3d capable. I have a very limited budget, right around $150, and I'm not real sure how my cards compare to say The HD 6750. I would like to maintain crossfire capabilities at least. So I'm wondering how the HD 4850 compares to say the HD 6750, or if i needed to get a newer modle. I'm currently looking at

but i'm affraid it would be a down grade untill i could afford the 2nd card to connect in crossfire. Any Help you all have would be greatly appreciated.

If I were you I would buy a hd 7850. I dont think you can get 2 cards with that budget.

A Radeon 7850 is only somewhat better than two Radeon 4850s in performance, granted considering micro-stutter and such, it might still be a huge improvement if OP notices that stuff.

A single Radeon 4850 is a little slower than a Radeon 6750, but not by a large margin IIRC. The 6750 does consume less power though.

If you're looking to do another Crossfire setup, then your best option would either be to get a discounted Radeon 7850 (if there are any going for around $150 right now, I saw some at $155 last week) or a Radeon 7770 and get second of either card later.

I have PCIe 2.0 so i don't think i can use the HD 7850 as it is a PCIe 3.0

PCIe is backwards-compatible. The only time it causes trouble is with a few PCIe 2.1 cards on some very old motherboards because of a mistake made in PCIe 2.1 which was later fixed in PCIe 3.0. The Radeon 7850 and 7770 should work in all PCIe 2.0 motherboards. They'll simply run at PCIe 2.0. That won't be a bottle-neck, just in case you're wondering.

Thanks guys, Excellent recommendation on the 7850, runs and looks great not to mention it's about 1/2 loud the 2 i took out. I'm about to upgrade to an Asus z77 sabertooth with an i7 3770k and 16gb ddr3, so crossfire is on hold for a few months at least but i think 1 will be able to handle my usage.
