Hello....

I was wondering how much Performance Gain would i get if i upgraded the ram in my PC to 16gb DDR4 3800mhz.

Current PC specs

CPU: i7 7700k 4.50ghz
GPU: GTX 1080ti Founders
MOBO: Asrock Z270 Extreme 4
Ram: 16gb Adata XPG 2400Mhz DDR4
PSU: Corsair CX650M
SSD: 1TB Samsung 860 Evo
SSD: 128gb Western digital Green (windows Drive)

Reason i ask is because Ram is dirt cheap right now and i found some Good 16gb 3800mhz Ram for 80 bucks.

Solution
i game at 165 hz 1080p
Hmmm that’s probably the scenario where you would see more gains. I still feel the gains are probably not worth it. If you plan on upgrading the cpu & motherhood in the year then maybe as you can take the RAM into the upgrade. However if you plan on waiting longer then an upgrade will likely need DDR5.
What resolution/Hz do you game at? At higher resolutions the gains from faster CPU’s & RAM are reduced. Also from the reviews I have seen some games are more impacted by RAM speed than others.

Have you tried overclocking your RAM? Personally I don’t it’s worth it.
