I have an 8350 cpu. I forgot the motherboard. It's a something 2.0 anyways I'm going to upgrade my motherboard & gpu & ram up from 8gb to 16gb. I'm going to buy one part a month.

So the question is, is there ram that works with my current motherboard, and one that supports Intel's maybe even possibly the 1800x, but as of now I plan on getting the 7700k, so I'll need a motherboard with the correct socket for Intel.

So is there ram out there I can use with my current amd supported mobo while I wait to buy my new one, and then just switch it over.

Basically I want 16gb ram that supports my current motherboard and my new one I'm getting for the I7 7700k?

There is no ram I can get that will work for both?

No.

Although Kaby Lake advertises compatibility with DDR3L, this is not standard DDR3. Using standard DDR3 with Kaby Lake will damage the integrated memory controller. The same goes for Skylake.

Quite upsetting. Maybe I can find some cheap 16gb ram in the mean time. I doubt it though. May I ask you opinion on cpus? I'be currently chosen the 7700k, but the 1800x seems better all around. . Which one would be better say 6 months from now, do you think the 1800x will catch up with the 7700 fps wise, or is that debatable being Intel had more game support optimization wise. I know this could change, but I want to make the best logical decision to future proof me for 2-4yrs. A cpu that won't bottleneck any gpu including the 1080ti . Which way should I go? You good at predicting?
