upgrading ram sticks

can i install 8g of ram if the manual only said 4g of ram

What computer do you have? What OS do you run?
* 32-bit OS can't make use of more than 4GB RAM, even if it runs just fine with more sitting there.
* Some old motherboards can't handle more than 4GB per stick.

its the intel DG31PR with quad core cpu with windows 10 home/pro 64 bit

Seems like it won't support more than 4GB total, I'm afraid.
