Hey there and thanks for stopping by.
So I am planning on upgrading from 8gb 4x2 ram to 16 gb 4x4 ram. I was wondering whether or not I can mix and match ram sticks with C16 and C15 latency or 3000mhz speed and 2666mhz speed. This the link to ram I currently have https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0123ZBPDA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 . I was just going to buy this kit again, but it is unavailable, so I think i am going to get this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0123ZB70Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1. Will these two different sets of ram be compatible or will I have to just sell my current ram and get a whole new kit altogether?

Mixing and matching can technically be done, but you do run risks of issues. To be on the safe side you would like all sticks to match, but that's not possible in this situation.

When you have 4 sticks and 2 at one speed and 2 at a lower speed, the motherboard will normally run all 4 at the lower speed.

You might be better off with:

I know it's $20 more, but it might be more compatible.

Thanks man this helped a lot, so I think I will buy the ram you just recommended. For some extra confirmation tho, this ram you recommended will be compatible with the ram I currently have and add up to be 24gb? Or should I just take out the ram I already have in there?
