G'day user's!
Simple question and hopefully an easy answer..
I have started doing hardware upgrades on my first build however i need a little help/advice.
I have 2x ssd and 2x sata hard drives.
My OS (windows 7) is on one of the ssd's.
I want to upgrade both my OS and my ssd that my OS will be installed on.
Now, i actually don't really care about any of the files and programs that are currently on my OS ssd however everything of value is on my other 3 hard drives..
The question is, how do i upgrade my os/ssd and make sure that that none of the important files from the other HDs are affected?
I'm guessing i just unplug all ssd/hd, install new ssd and windows 10 on it then plug in my old hds?
Do i need to wipe my old ssd (with os) prior to removing so i can reuse it?
Suppose i am mostly just asking about the process..

Thanks everyone in advance!

Depends what the other files on the other hard drives are.
If they're just movies, pics, documents you should be fine.
Installed programs (games, software) on the other drives will likely
have problems if you re-do your main Window's drive , as they are
referenced from the main drive through the registry and some user sub folders.
If it's just the pics, movies, music, documents then leave that drive alone and it should be fine
when you get the new Windows up. You should also be fine to disconnect that drive from the motherboard
if you want to be extra cautious.

Well as said before, 1 ssd has my OS on it, the other ssd has my games (not many) and my other 2 sata HDs are full of important documents, movies, tv shows, music, pictures, ect.
I can always reinstall my games so that's not a massive issue tho may be a pain reinstalling all my hardware ect again but it is what it is!
Once i install windows on new ssd, will i have to allocate the old hds like i did originally when i built the rig? Will their be a risk of losing files off those hds?

You didn't specify before what was on the other drives before, so thanks for that.
As I said, you should be fine except for game reinstalls. I'd be tempted to format the 2nd SSD
when you install Windows just to have a clean slate. Your drives are already formatted and
partitioned, so Windows will see them.
