At the moment, I have a GTX1080 with an I7-3770 non k, and so in Rust I get hardly bearable fps due to the fact it isn't utilized at all. I only have a limited budget for this and I know thatI still need a little more money to get it down but at the moment im looking to go for a Ryzen 5 2600 with the MSI B450 Tomahawk, 16gb Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz RAM. Im still unsure of the motherboard as I dont really know much about them in general. My friend is also going to upgrade, and we both came to this setup but he is now thinking about going for the Ryzen 5 1600x, since its a little cheaper, and hes going to step down to the Gigabyte A320M-S2H too as its also super cheap(He has a 1060 6gb) Can you guys see if my upgrade will be solid?
Other devices on my PC-
Corsair TX750M
2x 1TB HDD 3.5
250gb Kingston SSD
And my Case- CiT Raider Red LED

For Rust I don’t think it’s worth it. The single core performance boost by going to Ryzen isn’t significant and that’s what is going to make the difference https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-3770-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-2600/1979vs3955

Normally I don’t recommend the 9600k over the 2600 but in this case it would be a better choice.
The thing is at the moment the 2600 is still cheaper new, and I wont go to ebay if im going to get a new mobo and RAM too. Plus, im not going to be looking for a smooth 144hz game play, I just want it to sit above like 70, which is smooth for me as I usually play it at like 40-30. Its not the only game I would be playing either, its just when I go onto it i want to have a fun time and not die to someone I haven't even seen peeking a corner.
