Hi All,

I plan to purchase 1080 as it comes to market.

I want to ask you if I need to upgrade my cpu (and motherboard ofcurse).

Currently I have I5-3550.

And if upgrade is suggested then i would like to overcloak it in the future.

Thanks!

Motherboard memory and GPU memory have nothing to do with each other.
It probably would be a good idea to upgrade. At this point I would definitely recommend that you get an i5-6600k. An MSI gaming m5 or m7 would be good, as well as the asus z-170-a. If you don't have a good air or water cooler on your current CPU, overclocking may be a bit difficult, but you should be able to get a middle of the road quality chip to 3.7 GHz on a hyper 212 evo

Will i get a significant improvement from gen 3 cpu to gen 6 (for gaming)?

Will my current cpu be bottleneck for 180gtx?

As I understand my current cpu and MB support memory type of DDR3 and new GPU uses DDR5.
