Hey folks, I am new in these forums so excuse me for my poor knowledge of computers
a friend of mine wanted my help to upgrade his CPU. He mainly uses it for gaming. His current setup is average, but he is looking to upgrade his CPU. He is on a Core 2 Duo E7200 right now and wants to upgrade to either Q8300 or the E8400(I know, I know it's an ancient CPU) . Most games run fine, but games like GTA 4 and Saints Row IV run awfully bad. The framerate is usualy at 20-30FPS. I've checked the CPU load while playing those games and it was jumping from 80% to 100% meanwhile the GPU was at 50%. I think that the CPU is bottlenecking the GPU. What should he get, the Q8300 or the E8400? Or should he look for an other CPU?

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 @ 2.51Ghz, FSB 1033Mhz, 3MB L2 Cache
RAM: 4 GB 800Mhz
GPU: ATi Radeon HD 5770 1GB
