Upgrading the processor of my HP DV5 1130ea (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz)

Dear Gurus,

Please help, I am thinking of forking out ~£100 for a quad core (Intel Core 2 Quad Mobile Processor) of ebay or the likes to upgrade my stock processor that came with the laptop...

I am going to be checking the socket on my laptop motherboard to make sure it is PGA478 as only then it is possible that it will work.

If any one knows or thinks I should be aware of any other compatibility issues that might coz upgrade problems

i.e. motherboard support, heatsync and fan issues...

please let me know.

look up your motherboard and chipset for compability. the socket might be the same physically but the motherboard might not support the new chip
