Hi guys.

I'm about to upgrade my processor, ram and motherboard.
Specs before.
MSI Z87-G45
Intel Core i7 4771
Corsair Hydro Series H75
16gb ddr3 2400mh corsair vengeance.

New specs will be:
MSI Z370 gaming m5
I7 8700k
16gb ddr4 3200mhz corsair

Now,

My question is will the hydro series H75 work on the new processor.
Wanting tot overclock the 7800k.

Is this enough of andere cooler or do i need to upgrade this too?

Thnks guya

But OP is upgrading to Kaby Lake (I missed that myself at first).

My own opinion is to go to Coffee Lake instead. I am not sure a Haswell -> Kaby Lake upgrade will net a whole lot of performance gain, considering the Haswell i7 is pretty potent on its own.

You can use it. It will work. You may just get higher temps when overclocking. It should work fine for stock settings. But if you want a high OC, you will need more or the chip will thermal throttle. Since Intel has gone with TIM, the chips just run hot.

It wont hurt to get the new CPU and try the old cooler and see how it performs. Then make a decision.

Haha, you are right. It is 7800k and I saw 8700k. But the motherboard he chose is z370, not x299. So I am not sure.

I would definitely not get the 7800k (X299). The 8700k is a better CPU. The only thing you get with the 7800k is a few more PCIe lanes and quad channel memory.

Either way, the cooling for both will be similar as both CPUs run hot, unfortunately.
