Upgrading to 10

Solution
Once the installer starts. It should give you an option to keep your data or do a full reload.

However, doing such a big jump. I would recommend you backup your data anyways. Windows 10 is known for removing programs\applications that are not compatible with it during it upgrade process. You could lose data if that happens.

You will be given that option.
It usually works.

Unless you click the wrong button
Or the cat kicks the power cord out
Or the guy down the street cuts your power or internet connection
Or your system chokes in the middle
Or any one of a number of other possibilities.

Why don't you already have a backup of your 'data'?
