I'm going to upgrade my current 4690K rig to a 10600K on a MSI MAG Tomahawk Z490 mobo. I'm OCD and want all four RAM slots filled, so I have been looking at 4x8GB RAM.

I think I've have narrowed my choices down to:
  1. GSkill TridentZ RGB 3200 CL16 - F4-3200c16Q-32GTZR; or
  2. TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z 3200 CL16 - TLZGD416G3200HC16CD01
I like the RGB on the Trident, but the RGB premium is costly.

Are either of these a bad choice or is there an option I am overlooking considering the upgrade I am making?

Fake ram exists pretty much exactly for people like you. Only one I can recall off the top of my head is Corsair's ones, but I think G.Skill has/had them as well.

The actual ram:

The fake ram just for rgb:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Ve...O+Light+Enhancement+Kit&qid=1600559987&sr=8-1

I think it's a weird investment, but you do you. I'm also assuming you're just going to be gaming for the most part, hence 2x8gb and not 2x16gb.

I would suggest thermaltake's toughram rgb ddr4 4x8gb CL16.

In my opinion, the thermaltake toughram has good timings and good quality. It also received good reviews.

Or if you are going for a more Budget orientated build, go for OLOy warhawks
