Hi guys,

So this Christmas I'm going to have a budget of about £1,000 to upgrade my system and I'm going to be grabbing the PG278Q after over a year wait to replace my 5 year old VW246H.

Here are my current system specs:

Intel Core i7 4790K
16GB DDR3 RAM @ 1666MHz
250GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD
1TB Seagate Hard Drive
850W Thermaltake Toughpower PSU
eVGA GTX760 2GB SC
ASUS VW246H 24" Monitor (1080p)

Obviously the new display running at 1440p is going to probably be a little much for my existing GTX760, so I've been eyeing up the GTX970 SC from eVGA.

Any feedback on this?
I'm looking into this one in particular.

Will that be quite a good card to go with the 1440p resolution for gaming?
I've looked at the GTX980 and it looks a little too dear for me, both price and what benefits I'd get.

What kind of difference would I likely see with that kind of card at 1440p compared to this one at 1080p? With G-SYNC obviously.

Any ideas on other cards if not that one? I want to stay with NVIDIA cards for obvious reasons (G-SYNC).

Thanks for your answers!
