I currently have 2GB in my computer, two 1GB DDR2 1066Mhz modules by G.Skill.. and I'm looking to upgrade.

But I can't decide.. Should I get another set of the same memory, which is going to cost me ~$70, or should I just get a DDR2 800 set of 2x2GB for around ~$85 so that I can upgrade later if need be? Or the last choice.. get a different set of 2x1GB and just mix and match? (cheapest way).

I will be over clocking as well, and I heard two sticks is more stable than four. I am upgrading to vista 64.

Get the ddr2 800mhz. There is no noticable difference. 4gb of 2x2 ddr2 800 cost as little as $60.

It it were me i would get another set of what you have and run 4*1 (cheaper and faster, although the diff is minimal)

I run 4*1 800MHZ and dont have issues OC'ing.

@rsetter

I was just looking at a set of G.Skill that was DDR2 1000 and its only $5 more than the ones you picked out and I'd be assured that they would at least run close to what I have now in terms of speed.

Would there be any downside to running 6GB of RAM? 2x2GB and 2x1GB? If not ill definitely get a 2x2GB set.
