Greetings, all.

I’m upgrading from an i7 8700 to the new 9900KS. My motherboard is the Z370 Gaming 5, Rev. 1. I also installed new RAM and M2 SDD. With power on, the PC powers on, but never makes it to the Post screen. It’ll shut down after a few seconds, then restart. I read the Z370 can run the newer chips, but now I’m not so sure. I already popped out the battery for a CMOS reset.

The RAM are all the same model. I have a GeForce 2070 Super. The PSU I have is 750W.

Anyone have an suggestions?

Solution
If you updated couple months ago to at least F12 BIOS version (released 2019.03), then 9900KS would be supported.
Check cpu socket for bent pins. Reset BIOS settings with cmos_reset jumper.

Found the issue. For some reason the BIOS never flashed to F12. I just popped the older CPU and flashed it with the most recent BIOS. New CPU now recognized. Not sure what my OC potential is, but so far so good. Thank you, all.

Now onto the next issue.
