I am planning on upgrading my GTX 970 with a GTX 1080 but before I buy I want to double check everything will work, so my concern at the moment is will my current PCI-E cables fit with my new GPU. I will need 2x8-pin for the 1080 and what I currently have in my 970 appears to be 6+6+2 along with another 2 pin hanging by the other in use pins but I'm not sure if I can use it, I know I can use 6+2 for an 8 pin so my question is can I use this unused 2 pin to make a 2x 6+2 set up?
