recently i have upgraded my HP Envy 700-060ea with a 750 watt PSU, now im wondering can i upgrade the GPU to a MSI GTX 970, will my motherboard support the GTX 970?

My motherboard is a ms-7826 (kaili), it has one PCI express x16 3.0 slot, i have read that other motherboards in HP PCs cannot support a MSI GTX 970 because of the BIOS, but i have found any information about my ms-7826 (kaili) motherboard in relation to a GTX 970, in short will my ms-7826 (kaili) motherboard support a MSI GTX 970 without any BIOS updates or any other updates?, i would like to simply install it without any problems.

also it will fit in my case as that i have changed the case of my HP Envy 700-060ea.

any responses will be greatly appreciated

You should be fine. The motherboard has the correct size PCI-e slot, and as it's a gen 3 it would make no sense to require a BIOS update to accept a graphics card.

You may need a driver update depending on what card you're coming from, but Nvidia have made that quick and easy, so there's nothing to worry about. Even if you have to do a full driver install, it's a fairly simple process.

Your case also looks to have enough space, so at worst you'll have to move some cables to make room for the card.

Yrs dude.. your mobo support to your Graphics card,, because two things for Graphics card installing

( first )
Power supply = gtx 970 easily install to 750watt psu

( second )

Pcie-slot = your mobo has 3.0x16 slot... and gtx 970 easily support this motherboard..

Please Note :
If you buy a msi graphics card .. so please not go with msi.

Evga, asus is better than msi. Its give you many features and better technology than msi

There's nothing wrong with MSI. The only word against them I would have is that their Twin Frozr cards don't have backplates which can lead to the card sagging slightly.
Other than that they're top notch - I have two!

I seem to remember coming across you in a different thread Gargan, where you were trying to say that anyone who didn't have a GTX 9xx series card would be able to play games.

The reality is, all graphics cards will have someone out there that has a problem with it. MSI are a good brand - they're recently released a 100 Million edition GTX960 and GTX970 to celebrate selling over 100 million cards, so there's no way they're as bad as you're making them out to be.

It depends on which models you pick, and what you intend to do with them.

The Twin Frozr gaming beats both of the stock versions of those cards.

The EVGA ACX edition of the GTX970 has a faulty cooler, so the MSI wins there as well.

Of those options, the Asus Strix vs MSI TF would be interesting as they're pretty neck-and-neck on stats. For a one card set-up it wouldn't matter which you picked. For SLi I would advise the Asus as they have backplates.

The ACX cooler has three heat pipes and only two actually touch the GPU chip, and there's a massive gap between the two of them.
It's caused by the fact that EVGA just lifted their GTX7xx series coolers and put them on the GTX9xx series without changing them, and the the new 9xx series having smaller chips.

Now stop picking pointless and false arguments on this forum. It's of no help to OP, and you're just spreading false information. This is the second occasion on which I've come across you doing so.
