Question Upgrading to B650e - do I need AMD specific RAM?

I'm coming from a B450 that I've had for the last 5 years, but that motherboard is on its' last legs. I just bought the NZXT N7-B650e, but I'm having a hard time deciding what RAM to go with. Do I need AMD specific RAM? Will it make that much difference in overclocking over going with the generic? Or is it just a marketing gimmick?

I'm looking at buying either G Skill Trident Z5 or Corsair Vengeance, but I'm leaning more towards G Skill.

This is my current configuration (parts marked with * I am reusing in new build) :

Phanteks Enthoo Pro M *
Corsair RMx1000 Shift*
Asus ROG Strix B450-F Gaming
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (will be reused in my X570 rig)
Cryorig H5
32GB G Skill Ripjaw V DDR4-3600
3TB storage*
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060TI*

This is my new pending configuration:

NZXT N7-B650e (purchased)
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (purchasing)
G Skill Trident Z5 DDR5-6400 (purchasing)
NZXT Kraken Elite 240 (purchasing)

Is something wrong with that B450? I'm on a B450 motherboard too and its been awesome, I don't plan on replacing it for the next several years.

The internal USB ports are going, and I've been having problems with them for several months now. It's not just a mere driver issue. I've tried everything software related so far to fix it, and nothing really seems to be working.

Oh that's a bummer. i hate problems like that. Surprised you didn't replace it sooner.

Build looks good. Not sure how reliable NZXT boards are but they are pretty. If it was my build i'd probably go with something from MSI or Gigabyte.

Yeah I realized it yesterday when I was using this rig and all of a sudden all the USB ports started acting weird and disconnecting. I have got a lot of use out of this motherboard though. It's been through 3 CPU upgrades since I got it. I'm definitely reusing my 5800X in another rig though.

I almost bought the MSI MAG Tomahawk but I liked the NZXT board and decided to get something different. I also saw that it worked with the 7800X3D out of the box. We'll see how this one goes.
