Hey I wanted to upgrade to a i5 8600k, I was wondering if I'll need to upgrade anything else for it to run smoothly. Specs:
-pentium g4620
-msi b250m pro-vdh
-rx 480 8gb
-chieftec GPS 600A8 600w
-8gb ram
-arctic freezer i11
If anyone could help me it'd mean a lot.

Solution

The easiest thing to do is upgrade the CPU to an i5 7600.

And replace that PSU with a quality unit.

You can't use a i5 8600K with that MB, you need a 300 Series MB.

The best thing to do is to go for the 7000 series i5 and just look for the k if you want to overclock, but then you would need a Z2xx motherboard vs a Z3xx mobo for an 8th gen. the b250 is the mobo I have, so I'm using a 7th gen CPU. If you don't want to overclock then you should look for a cheaper CPU. Don't forget that you need good thermals if you are going to overclock.
