Recently come across a deal to pickup some parts to build a pc and am wondering if it is worth it.

Intel i7-2700k
Asus P8Z68-V Gen3
Corsair 2x4gb (CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9)
Zotac GTX 670
For $600 CAD

Obviously the components are used but I it seems that a comparable new build will cost roughly $300 more.

I see the the 2700k is roughly 2-4% slower than its successor (3770k) and up to 5-10% slower than the latest haswell (4770k) in real world benchmarks. I do plan to modestly overclock and also was curious as to how well a 2700k would do with a decent z68board and ddr1866 ram.

Thanks in advance.

sandy bridge chips are great for overclocking
also the motherboard is high quality ...
and gtx 670 is a bit more powerfull than gtx 760 ...
i would say go for it , you will be able to do pretty much anything you want on such machine -
gaming , video editing (after adding more memory) ...
