upgrading to i7-3770 from i5-3350p how much better for gaming?

I'm upgrading an old pc that I have and I found a working i7-3770 for super cheap so I figured that might as well be my next move.

I'm just wondering how much more performance I'd get out of the i7 compared to the 3350p in games like Fortnite, Monster Hunter World, and just running more processes in general.

The system has 12gb of RAM and an r9 290 gpu.

A decent amount. Sell the i5 once you got the i7, even cheaper.

In a game like MHW it should make a big difference. Some games will use the extra threads, not to mention the higher clock speed.

also very true, in games like MHW they would as it does use quite a bit if graphics.. in my comment i was talking about fortnite mainly as it’s what the post said.. thanks for the feedback though!
