Hello people ill just get right to it, i built my pc back in early 2010 and now im trying to upgrade just on the mobo and cpu, this is what i currently have:

Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz
MSI Big Bang-XPower LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s
EVGA GTX 580
CORSAIR XMS3 12GB
Windows 7 64bit
XFX Black Edition XPS-850W
Crucial M4 256gb
Crucial M4 128gb
Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B CPU Cooler

So basically its a pretty strong system overall, but im a big monkey and i like to have newer stuff (dont judge)

What i need is a mobo with at least 2 6gb sata (i have 2 ssds running)

and a newer faster cpu (intel) im not very familiar with the new 1155 or if there is a newer socket for that matter

What are my options? thanks in advance

P.S I know somebody will say Overclock is an option, but honestly im not too big on that.

I would look at any board with the Z68 or Z77 chipset (they will have your 2 SATA III ports). Maybe something like the Asus P8Z77-V Pro or the Intel DZ77GA-70K. If you need this now go with the Intel® Core™ i7-2600K or Intel Core i5-2500K (if you are mostly gaming with this system). If you can wait a couple weeks the 3rd generation Intel Core processors will be out and you can match them up with the Z77 chipset and take advantage of all the system improvements that those processors offer.

Sounds good, well im in no rush and yes i use mostly for gaming, are the 3rd gen Intel chip a bit pricey? and worth the wait?

When the 3rd generation Intel® Core™ processors launch reseller might add a little to the cost to help them make some money but they shouldnt be to far out of the price point that the 2nd generation Intel Core processors are running at right now.
