I am upgrading my GPU to a MSI 1060 from my previous 750. Since the 750 required no additional power cables I dont have the 8 Pin power connector required for the 1060 nor do I know how to wire it to the PSU. Any information regarding how to properly wire the 1060 and what exact wire I need and where I can purchase the required wires from (locally preferred) would be greatly appreciated.

I believe I need an 8 pin male to 8 pin male PCIE power cord to run from the 8 pin slot from my psu to the 8 pin slot on my gpu. I have yet to find any 8 pin male to 8 pin male connectors.

8 pin PCIe cables are generally available from your local Computer store or can be ordered from EBay.

The socket on your PSU for the 6pin is the same for...

if you power supply is modular and good it will have the cable you need in the box, a 6+2 also works

if it is not modular and it does not have a 8-pin, or 6+2, or two 6-pin pcie cables then you need a new power supply

exact make and model of what you have?
