Hello team,

I'm planning to upgrade my PC to Ryzen 3600 and I need your advise -

Current hardware -

MoBo - Z170 Pro by Asus
CPU - i5-6500
RAM - 2x8GB on 2400Mhz
Cooler - Scythe Funa
GPU - 1070TI
PSU - Seasonic 650w Gold

I'm planning to by -

MoBo - MSI B450 Tomahawk
CPU - Ryzen 3600
Creative soundblaster Z -I need optical audio port

I have opened another thread of the cooler compatibility, as I'm not sure if the scythe funa will be compatible.

Upgrading my RAM is out of my budget.

I have an offer for i7-7700k for 210 EU and I'm in a quite the pickle.

Would it be worth it to go AMD over the I7-7700k?

I'm upgrading my PC every 3 years and the games that I play are - WoW, aRPG - Diablo, Wolcen, Last Epoch etc.

Thank you in advance,

Nothing wrong with an old CPU. I still run a system with a 4690K overclocked and it's still fantastic!

Over the 2, I'd say you'd have to go the 3600 as it shows slightly better performance but at a lower cost. Also as a bonus it has more cores and threads.

The CPU itself is cheaper, however I would need to buy a new MoBo, Cooler (as mine does not support AM4 socket) and I don't know what the performance hit will be when running 3600 with 2400Mhz RAM
