I have installed a 240 Gbt Silicon Power S-55 Sata 3 SSD on my Lenovo G575 and it causes a 10 minute delay during boot. When I turn it on by pressing the power button, it passes the BIOS screen, then I can see a blank screen with a flashing cursor for about 10 minutes. Then it will launch into windows 10 and works fine. A restart will sometimes (although not always) launch into Windows 10 immediately without the delay. But a cold start causes the 10 minute delay. The laptop has the latest bios, and the ssd has the latest firmware. Using The manufacturers diagnostics, the SSD passes all the tests. I don't get this problem with the original standard HDD.
Has anyone else experienced this problem when installing an SSD on an older laptop and found a solution? Your advice would be appreciated.
Kind regards
Chris
