I currently own a Dell Inspiron 15 5558
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5250U CPU @ 1.60GHz
Intel(R) HD Graphics 6000
8.0 GB Ram
1 TB HDD

I would like to upgrade to an SSD. How do I go about it?
1) Is it possible to upgrade my laptop to an SSD or is it not compatible?
2) I found this one online:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147372&cm_re=samsung_evo-_-20-147-373-_-Product

Will it work with my laptop?
3) Is there anything else I need to know?

I have not done this before and am not familiar with installing a new drive. Is it possible to transfer my windows 10 to the ssd?

Thank you

Solution
Yes, an SSD will breathe new life into that.
And with only 120GB total used space, a migration operation should be no problem.

The Samsung Data Migration tool, or Macrium Reflect will do this.

You may need to buy a SATA-USB cable, if that drive does not come with one.
Good choice of drive
It will work with your laptop.

The only issue is...the total used space on your current drive.
If it is more than 200GB, you will need to do a full reinstall on the new SSD.
If it is less than 200GB, you might consider a clone operation from old drive to new drive.

So...how much total used space is on that drive?
How much is doc/music/funny cat videos?

Have around 120 GB of space. Haha I actually just use the laptop for school. I have a desktop with lot of memory.
I also wanted to ask, is it worth switching to an SSD? I got the laptop for around $600 and I don't want to spend too much. I saw the 250GB for $100 and I thought that was a good deal.
